Student Achievement

Academic Achievement in NH is measured by examining both student performance (how well did students perform) and student participation (did all students participate) on state assessments. Student Performance measures the percentage of proficiency in the 3 subject areas of Math English Language Arts and Science. The student achievement Levels on the state assessments are also evaluated and divided into 4 categories of Proficiency with 1 & 2 being not-proficient and 3 & 4 being proficient. Only students who spend most of the year enrolled in their school are included when reporting the performance of students. Additionally, to ensure students participate, the achievement holds schools accountable for a portion of student who did not take the test.
